I have a chance to buy the sled below from the original owner - in which i sold it to him when i worked at the local dealership back in the fall of 97'
1998 SRX 600 - 920miles.
I just went through everything for him...carbs (nasty gas-pewwww!) cleaned powervalves.... drained old gas...hyfax....i mean everything!!!!
Well....lets just say last night i just added 5 gallons of fresh premimum fuel, fired the ol' rocket up and rode it around my yard.....I just fell back in love..yes again. Nothing satisfies better than the sound of the Yamaha SRX tripple cyl. engine...and wow the throttle response!!!!!
I have waxed & cleaned up since these pictures and it seriously almost looks new...other than the typical corrosion /rust on a few small things....Should I ??

Very nice was the crank welded?

Are you sure of that mileage.??? The paint rubbed off the running boards would suggest more miles.

I'm with Steve on the crank issue, if it hasn't been updated that would be a deal breaker for me.

Might be a bit of an optical illusion. Could be a combo of lighting and salt/dirt residue from dried snow. It looks similar as the stuff on the rear of the ski's.

No it's the real deal as far as the mileage.....only I don't ever remmeber him bringing it in for the "crankshaft issue" for the 98's....i will ask him, or i could get the vin # and check also.
I don't know what he wants for it yet - i need to get his 98 ZL500 done also, but i'll call him or stop by and talk to him to ask i suppose....
I had almost forgot about the crank thing...thanks for the reminder.

There is a good chance the crankshaft is rusty with that little of miles on it, I have seen my share of rusty crankshafts in the last 2 years. good luck

If the crank is buzzed you likely would get your money back from a part out. Do it.
