I'm not sure if this is the right area but here goes!!! I would like to know if there is any diference in an oem voltage reg.versues an aftermarket one?I had replaced my oem with an aftermarket one a couple winters back,it failed but fortunatly I kept my old one.Put the old one on and its working so I am debating on ordering a YAMAHA reg. or another jobber?
 
Dont know the differance BUT maybe just a moisture issue. Old one had time to dry out and works again. Maybe the Jobber will work again when its had a chance to dry out as well? Just keep swapping what ya got?
 
Regulators

Well the reason I changed out my original one was 'cause once in a while I'd notice the lights would blink,so I bought a new,aftermarket.But the other day went for a ride and blew the headlamp/dash lights.So I checked voltage at the light socket ran at 15+ volts over 3000 rpms.Lights went brighter than ever.So I could not get a new one, till I order one the old will do,just thought theold one (YAMAHA)lasted 10 or so years the new one 2!Go figure about electronics.....
 
keep sledding bud..you must have a ton of snow up there.We are still good here down South.Lots of snow around.I will have at least another 2 to 3 weeks of riding.It is warming up to about -2 to -4 C next week. Wasn't to bad of a Winter.If only I had another $1000 to buy gas,I would of put on 4000 miles already.Just pickin the days to ride now.
