My sled has 14000+ miles and the seat is showing its age and doesn't rides as good. I'd like to find another seat and thought I read in the past that the last year Viper had better seat foam. I really don't want to sit high like a boss seat seeing Ive already raised the ride height with my m-10 and don't want to make things even more tippy. Your thoughts on this are appreciated.......

04's had pleats in the cushion, which does make them pretty comfy.

02 seat was the worst Yamaha ever put on a sled, V-Max seat was far better but the 04 Viper seat actually had good foam in it.

I agree the 02 seat was a brick, it will be much harder to find a used 04 S seat but it would be a really nice upgrade to your sled if you can find one.

Did you do any upgrades to your front suspension when you installed the M10?

Yes, I had Pioneer Performance revalve the fronts which made a nice difference in comfort and handling. The sx-r front has 8" or 9" of travel to begin with.Vt Srx said:Did you do any upgrades to your front suspension when you installed the M10?

I have had really good luck posting in the "wanted" section here for parts, If you are looking for a used seat it's worth a try.

03-04 std models have a nicer softer seat then the 02 does, the 04 viper "s" and silver er models and the venoms have the softest seat, same thing as the old srx, super plush, makes you think the suspension got better on sled.....lol
