I was having some coolant show up on a couple of my head bolts, so I took my head off today to check my head gaskets. I didn't pay attention to how they were on. I know, stupid of me. These are single layer gaskets, they have areas where the paint was worn off, I have a set from when I split them, so I'm going to use them. My manual says that they are stamped with the work "up" but I don't see that. Anyways, what is the correct way for them to go on?

Only the top layer says up and it was hard to see on mine. The small rivet tab goes on the exhaust side. I don't know if that's what your asking for but hope it helps

Thanks. I did find what I needed in the Tech section. The raised side of the gaskets face up, with the larger tab toward the carbs.
