Been chasing problems on this sled all season and driving me nuts.Need some thoughts and hopefully a fix.Never had so much grief from a sled in my life.
Sled was doggy and backfiring at slow speeds and die going down trail but start right back up.Installed new plug caps, replaced rusty flywheel, deep cleaned carbs, checked reeds, checked harness, swapped coils
I thought carbs might be just so dirty internally that i got different carbs last weekend and seems to run better on bottom now that it doesnt dog when taking off from a stop. But still backfires alot getting off the throttle. And dies going down trail like you hit the kill switch. The other day went riding and it was fine for alittle bit then it died twice within a minute. Then was good for awhile.Doesnt matter what speed your going either.I can be cruising at 70 and then it just dies and coast to a stop. Then starts right back up sometimes with a big bang.
Other problem is tach is wacky.Anything more then half throttle it pegs the tach.I know the motor isnt over reving but the something is causing tach to not read correct.I dont have another tach otherwise i would just swap it and see if thats the problem.Any help is appreciated...thanks rich
