hey guys im looking at a 98 vmax 500 xtc it has 8500 miles on it the machine is in really great shape he only wants 950$ perfect for my gf i had a 2000 vmax 500 and it had 7200 miles on it when i sold it and it seemed to be a pretty sled i noticed the carb warmer line that came out of the head was plugged shut with a bolt and hose clamp i dont think it will affect it any should i stay away from this machine for any reason? also engaged a little bit hard but the clutches might just need to be gone through

does any one know if that will effect the machine not having the antifreeze in the carbs?

All depends on WHY they did it. May have plugged to remove carbs and never hooked them back up(should have another hose from carbs back into cooling system) OR something (body of carb/fittings bad/leaking) else. Carb heaters are for limiting carb icing (most popular at just above freezing temps/extreme cold temps) Running sled this way shouldnt have nurt anything. Some guys turn them off and leave them there...same thing really.

I never even turn mine on unless it below zero degrees out.

my switch was leaking so i temporarily looped it and bypassed the carbs,didnt have any issues all year.
