Okay. Let me back track a bit for those who have not been following my thread. Have a WOT issue for the last 4 years. If you pin it, it would go upto 8,200 RPM and after a second or 2 drop to 7,500 and sound flat. This past Monday, the starter cord broke (what else is new??) took recoil off and noticed the flywheel had some rust and a blemish on the magnet (see pic). Sanded some of the rust off and polished the magnets. Put it back together and it now goes to 8,500 and stays there. Plugs look good (also see below). Now the issue I have now is if I just putt putt along and not really go past 6,500 RPMS, plug #1 starts to get wet and full of carbon and begins to foul. Will go upto 8,500 but then fall back to 8,000. If I ride it between 6 and 7,000 RPM, it clears itself up and holds 8,500 all day. Fine in trails as well, but if I keep RPMS below 6 for any extended period of time, bog comes back at WOT and then clears up. Carbs are spotless, float height checked, filter hats cleaned, etc. Like I said, carbs need to be spotless if you can hold 8,500 RPM for any extended period of time, start in 3 pulls cold, and no idle hang or low idle bog.
So the question is why does Plug #1 foul up at low speeds for extended period of times and would a dirty fouled plug cause a WOT bog as described or is there another sympton I should be looking for?
2000 SRX bone stock through out with 01 jetting. Fuel Screws at 1.5 turns out. No idle hang, starts 3 pulls in the morning, 5 pulls if I leave it for a week, 1 pull when warm with 1/4 throttle. Compression is 110, 115, 115.

Those Plugs Look Great. Two Things Possible To Try If You Have Not Already. First Is A Different Cdi. And You Ever Put A Ohms Tester On Your Spark Plug Caps. 3:16 (yammie Tony)
New plug caps. Confirmed 5k Ohms. New coil on the cyclinder #1 as well. Next step is a new CDI and see if that helps. If I keep on the flipper, I hit 8,500 all day long and plugs look like that. If I ride like a little girlie man, plug #1 gets fouled up for some reason. Will try CDI next year.

Tony ,what about his o ring on needle carrier could he have a slight leak by and only notice it at low rpm where he is not using the fuel as fast? Tony will tell you problems he had with flooding out on one cylinder. His was more at idol i believe, but yours might not be as bad. If that is it they will look ok until you try and remove it and falls apart in your hand. That was on his vmax4.
Can try that as well as I have an extra carb rack lying around. It does look like that carb is barfing up little bit of gas and oil as sometimes their is a small puddle on the belly pan right about where the carb connects to boot on air box.

I would match up some new orings and install them that way you can rule that out. After seeing Tonys i will be changing mine too as a preventive measure.I think the older these srxs get it will become a problem in the future.not totally sure if you have that problem, but cant hurt.

IF THIS SLED IS BARFING GAS, YOU MUST CHANGE YOUR O-RINGS THAT SEAL YOUR NEEDLE AND SEAT INTO CARB BODY. OVERTIME THEY DRY- ROT. IN MY GAS ETHANOL FUEL ATE THEM. MYSELF AND BEACH FOUGHT THIS PROBLEM FOR TWO WEEKS ON MY VMAX 800. THAT GAS YOUR SEEING I CAN TELL YA IS COMING OUT YOUR VENT TUBES. 3:16 (yammie tony)
