well the skid and track are taken already.Hw want $1000 for the motor with 7000 miles or km's ,not sure which he meant, probably km's.Don't think I want to pay that much for an older motor, don't know if those cranks had issue's in 97.

To bad he's parting it out looks like a pretty nice sled. As for the 97 being reliable I had 6500 miles on mine before I did anything to it it never left me stranded.

so the cranks are not an issue with them, though they were with older style bearings compared to the 98 and newer motors

I haven't had any issues with it. I know the cases are a little different but I thought the only bearing that was different was the pto and you only had issues with them if you put e-start on the bearing doesn't like the added wieght. ther than that mine rips with no issues.

would be nice, but I probably would stay away from the 780 for a long tracked sled..just want a reliable motor.not a super modded one that can blow up on me..bit a nice price for sure.

That motor is an awesome motor. 7500 miles here before I tore it apart, just because I could. No crank issues on these, that was the 98 srx. As you already are aware of the bearing changes when they came out in 98. I WOULD NOT be afraid of that motor, BUT I wouldn't pay $1000 for it either.

well Scotty my stepson is trying to see if he could pu that 760..not 780 SX Hauck motor from that guy.He really wants it.Then I would buy his 98 700 redhead off his XTC..problem solved..just hoping the guy will ship it..the only hitch.

No crank issues on the 97 but there was an update made to the bearings in 98.
