2001 srx 700 runs very good on trail as soon as i get off trail into deeper snow or climbing hills when you hold it down it tends to drop a cyl or two at times when its seems to be working hard get onto hard trail runs good. I check plugs all look nice and brown have 125comp on all three, new belt, power valves cleaned and working, put new boyseen reeds in but cage had some groves, could this do that? has anybody had this prob? thanks

do a search on "powder bog" there was a thread from a while back titled "the infamous powder bog" or something of that nature with a lot of info in it.

do you have an exhaust deflector mounted, otherwise motor won't rev up due to blocked exhaust.I went thru this years back and that solved it.

ya im going to try that, but it seems its cutting out on one cyl, doesnt always happen tho just when your climbing or in a stick situation when eng working hard do you guys think reeds would do this? i also have a mbrp can will it still block exaust, thanks for reply

in deep snow the exhaust outlet gets plugged steadily..exhaust can't escape fast enough and then you start to lose power and bog.I made one myself years back for my 600 when we had like 2 feet of snow..I couldn't get the motor to open up in that stuff.Made something up quick and like day and night the performance..Try and put a potato in your car exhaust and see how it does.
Also check your spark plug caps for sure

I have a 98 Msrx and had trouble with that recently probably a different situation but it would drop a cyl due to spark plug fouling constantly changing plugs, I jetted one size down and wala never a problem since, I was up in the mountains a bit but not that high up. My sled does have somewhat of an exhaust deflector plate but its only bout an inch down, have never had issues with bogging after checking the plugs and altering jets and this is in at least 6ft or more snow so I know it was as deep as it will ever go.
Not sure if this helps
