We have a 97 sx700 apart trying to replace the stator. I removed the recoil starter, the hub, and the nut on the end of the shaft. We can't get the thing to budge. Is the shaft tappered and requires a puller? I can see a key way slot on the shaft so we thought it should just slide out. This has never been apart before, the hub bolts were a nightmare. The only fasteners remaing are two phillips on a tab back behind the stator, and two for what I assume is the pulse coil. We have everything else off. What are we doing wrong? Thanks!
