Ok, So Im trying to get my idle up a bit, currently ( even when warm ) It will Idle @ 800 RPM or so, but I didnt want to go right at it, because I have heard that messing with the wrong adjustment can throw other things off, and TORS is also a PITA.. \
I looked at post 3 in THIS THREAD ---> http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?t=64814&highlight=vmax+oil+pump+adjustment But still am not sure what one it is.. There is a screw on the rail, as well but thats not mentioned , And also what should the idle be at ? 1500 or so ?
And when Wide open throttle, where should the RPMs peak at? Im right around 9000

Idle adjuster should be right in the middle of carb rack. Sitting on engine side of carb rack. Will be a bolt/screw that hits the same cam.block the throttle cable hooks to. Turn it clock wise to raise and counter clockwise to lower idle RPM. By increasing idle rpm you will be creating slack in throttle cable and may need to adjust that afterwards. Adjusting throttle cable happens at the carb rack as well. At the end of the cable theres a jam nut/barrel type nut. Loosen the jam nut(tighens down on bracket to lock in place) and twist the barrel nut to loosen/tighten throttle cable. You need to have a fair amount of slack in the cable(at carbs) or it will activate TORS. I generally shoot for 3-4mm side to side at carbs but I beleive the spec listed is 2mm freeplay at the throttle lever(handle bar end)

Went and looked at post 3, that is spot on correct. That screw you say isnt mentioned I beleive to be covered in "adjust that here" second link in 2nd. And in my opinion 9k is to high RPM. You can check that in the tech pages to know what your target is.

I'm pretty sure 8450 is peak power stock
Thanks much guys! I'll mess with the throttle slack a bit as well. Now how do I get my wot down 500 rpm

U have to put a heavier rivet in the tips of your clutch wieghts. These sleds had a big problem overreving from the factory.

Before you start playing with the clutch weights cover the simple stuff first. Make sure the sheaves are clean and running a good belt. If you have a spare belt pull of the one thats on there, give the sheeves a good scrub down with a green scotch brite pad then put other belt on(or original if thats all you have) and if you still need to tweak then tweak away!

Won't hurt that engine to run at 9,000, but won't be in power band. Check the buttons and bushings in the secondary. Check the primary, rollers for free movement and weights for free movement and that they straight on the pivot point and check the bushings. Belt adjustment should be -0.02" > +0.06" on the secondary.
