I plan on replacing pistons and rings in my 01 SRX this summer and I have never had one of these motors apart before. What gaskets and O rings will I need to order besides the pistons and rings? Does Yamaha sell everything as a kit or do I need to order separately? Thanks for any advice!

Base gasket, head o-rings and water rail gaskets should do the trick!

Kits are available but not from Yamaha and the after market kits are not up to Yamaha OEM quality.

X3, Not only are they not up to yamaha spec the aftermaket base gaskets are actually quite a bit thicker, which raises jug, which lowers compression! Worth a few bucks to buy OEM!
