I'm gonna be putting on a GYTR ultra plate with the wings over the control rods, but before I do, I want to go over my front end again while I still have easy access to the heims.
For a couple of different reasons:
I would like as much ski stance as humanly possible. Not only because wider is better, but I ride almost exclusively with another SXR and I get in his ruts, and vise versa. Before anyone suggests, triple points and ski savers are going in next fall.
Also, when I lined everything up a few weeks ago, I had so much negative camber, I must have lost about 2"-3" of ski stance, when I lined it all up. I went through the skid too and it is pretty much set where it needs to be for my fat a**, and for transfer, but now I get a touch more inside lift than I'd like. No preload front shock, and I only have 10mm left to suck up the strap. Already steers heavy enough.
So.....I would like to know what is the max allowable thread exposure that I can safely get away with so I can get as wide as possible. I couldn't find it here, and It is not in the SVC manual.
Figure if I'm gonna go wider, now would be the time before the plate goes on.
Thanks,
~G.D.
