Building a new viper motor.. Bottom end is done now going to be doing the top end.. Looking for good gaskets for cylinder gasket and head gasket. I want an opticool for head gasket. Any one recommend a good brand and where I can get both?? Is there a sponser or someone on this site that I can order from. Also going to put NEW pistons and rings in. Up here in Canada Yamaha is outragous in price for oem. I want to stick with oem so is there someone that can price and get me a package for all above including gaskets?
Thanks Cam

Try ordering from port yamaha. No sure if they will ship to canada though. Also, exremepowersports (I think) and babbits online have good prices usually

best prices I have found are from yamaha sports plaza, they will also ship to a border store and allow you to pay on your card.

They are also the same as http://www.yamahapartsnation.com/
as well as all of the other mfg's that they carry such as Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, etc., just change out the "cycle" or "yamaha" with another brand that they carry (you'll usually see 'em at the top of their webpage).
May need to buy the Opticool separate from the other parts. Only place I know for Opti is Bender Racing, but I thought Hauk may have carried it as well? If anyone else knows where to get Opticools, please spill yer guts.
All of the other gaskets and parts you mention, I'd recommend sticking with Yamaha for all of them. I'm taking apart an SRX engine that had one of the aftermarket gasket sets, probably from ebay. The a/m base and exhaust gaskets are the cheapy "pressed felt-like" crap, and they are peeling/tearing off, stuck to both parts so I'm going to have a lot of scraping and cleaning to do. Also the head gasket o-rings are both black on this engine, and I seem to recall that original Yamaha parts had at least one red o-ring per cylinder, so it was likely hi-temp silicone for the inner o-ring at a minimum. The a/m set may just be cheap buna/nitrile.
