Summer Storage...

Put stabilizer in the fuel, run it for a bit, then take the air box off and try and stall it by spraying fogger in the carbs. Go from left to right spraying a good amount each time and just keep going till it stalls. Then the drain the bowls and plug your exhaust, may even be worth to spray a light coat of oil, wd40 or something over the out side of the engine to keep the moisture out, and your good for the engine.

Most "stabilizers" are JUNK! I started using the green stabil (marine/ethanol formula) Late last season and all of this season. I like it as a cheap insurance against ethanol. Supposed to neutralize the ethanol. Remove top of airbox. If you can get to the fuel hose between pump and tank(some guys install a shut off valve) You can gently pinch it off with vise grips to stop flow to carbs. I suggest doing this while sled is running. As it start to sputter like its running out of gas start HOGGING the fogging oil. Should actually run on the oil alone. Like Roudy said you want to basically FLOOD it with fogging oil until it either dies or is stumbleing real bad and hit the kill switch. This will ruin a set a plugs. If your running near new put some old ones back in. Syphon as much gas out of tank as you can. In late summer/early fall pull the carbs and clean them(just in case) and put it back together (DONT START IT JUST YET) will just dirty up the carbs until snow comes. Once snow arrives add fresh gas, while your swapping the fogging oil laiden plugs give each cylinder a snort of pre-mix (teaspoon or so) Makes the first fire ever so easy! FIRE IT UP AND RIDE! I pull the belt and slack off the track during summer as well, hit the sheaves with green scotch brite pad when putting belt back on...thats up to you to decide on.

if you have about a gallon or less fuel left in the tank, put a couple capfulls of ATF in and mix it good. Then run the motor with this for a while, then if you have a shut off valve..turn it to off..let motor keep running and start to spray fogging oil thru carbs until it runs out of gas..you can add some fogging oil thru each plug hole as well and turn over the motor with pull start.
I take my clutch's off the sleds, remove the springs also.Loosen track can be done as well.I spray the entire skid and frame ,motor area with silicone spray to coat everything good. Then I remove handle bar pads and air box foam cover and bring in the house so mice won't nest in these areas or chew up foam.I put moth balls in and around the sleds, set mouse traps in the shed and have been good a few seasons already.Three years back the mice nested under my handle bar foam and chewed all kinds of wires. Not anymore, got to take this away for them not to nest in.

I have a Pitbull that covers the rodent patrol. We had some sort of ground chipmunk looking burrowing rodent when we got the pitbull pup as well as we bought a camper that had mice in it. Our rottweiler could care less, she would let a rodent eat right out of her food bowl. Pitbull on patrol 24/7!

I'll be stowing outside in the shade w/factory cover..like the mothball tip.

Mothball, steel wool and even rat poison are your friends when storing outside, some may find the rat poison cruel but I have had enough with those lttle sh@ts chewing wiers and foam. Buddy had a sled burn down because of a nest.
