Just put in a yamaha 51/43 green secondary wrap at 70. Primary y-s-y no shims 8dn-20 4.5 both holes. .75 track with 96 up the middle. This was a major improvement over the stock setup. Sled used to pull well out of the hole then feel sort of flat. Now it pulls decent out of the hole and has a much better mid/top range. 8150-8200 climbs to 8500 ish 45deg out. I suspect that on a colder day it would over rev but this is an easy low budget setup. FWIW

easiest and cheapest would be to try the green at 60. might not have enough backshift though.
the right way to go about it would be more tip weight or a softer primary spring.

Man that primary spring seems to have a low engagement speed. The 8dn-20s i got from you a few years ago. Didnt know what was in there for weight so i started over and put 4.5s in there.

Ill go after the wrap 1st if not enough ill add the weight. Its close now . Im pretty happy with it.

51/43 will work well in the warmer weather, but when it is colder it will over rev to like 8800-8900. Stock for 99 is a y-w-y primary spring, red 2ndary wrapped to 60 with a 47 helix, and stock weights were 8dn-10's with 15 mm rollers..

Yea blue thats what she had. That stock setup over revved close to 9k I think that .75 track is going to be good for top speed runs. Thinking about picking the outerband every other window. This setup now with the 51/43 would have no problems with my nytro after 660 Never had a sled that pulled out of the hole like the nytro not even my 06 apex.
