I have a '97 SX700 and my original plastic skis are starting to crack and little pieces are breaking off here and there. I have the red Yamaha GYT 4.5" plastic skis. Since I can't get red skis from Yamaha anymore, what aftermarket skis are recommended that won't break the bank? Also, what is the thought on going to a 5.5" ski since I don't ride the trails as much as i used to?

I have a set of black precisions with red loops and fairly fresh carbides if you are interested. They are on my viper right now. Im thinking about puting a set of OEM's (nytros) on it. I'd sell you everything you need to bolt on and go for $225 + shipping. That is what i paid just for the bare skis. They have been real good skis and are night and day difference from the stockers. PM me if you are interested.

I'd look on Ebay. I picked up a like new set of the OEM yamaha black plastic skis with the red loops for my 97 sx700 for around $150.00 shipped.

If you want just the viper style ski, I have some here, viper s style keel(deeper) with dullies, If you ride hard, change the duallies out of single carbides with dartless plates.
they have red tips
If you have some more money to spend, there is no better ski for the money than the new yamaha tuner ski, buy the new skis from yamaha and put stud boy shapers on them, two sets of 6in. great bite, no darting, and cheap, even with shapers, you will only be around 280
