Hey fellas. Almost got my clutching dialed in. Went riding last night and pulled away top end on the lake against a bunch of Polaris's. Pulled away from a 2013 assault 800, 2 rush pro r 800s, and another 4 stroke switchback 800. I am revving to around 8600-8650 on hard pack. I want 8500. I have 8bu 10 loaded to 55gr, hauck orange primary, bender 51/37, green at 70. Should I lower to wrap to 60? I was thinking that might get me bang on....any input?
I thought '98's should be at 8,300.

wrong bud..they have engagement at 3800 and shift out rpms are 8500 as our SRX's.But he is a little high anyways.Ideal would be to aim for approx 8450-8500 wot,but that varies with different conditions/temps as well.

maybe the helix is to shallow and over reving because of it.Maybe try a 51/45 helix.

98-99 = 8350, 00,01,02 = 8500 I do believe.

simply check the tech section..it is all listed there..8500..
PS: plus or minus 100 rpm.

Justin, what kind of riding do you do? If your not worried about backshift soften up the secondary! I really don't think 10 degrees is going to get you down where you want to be though. Try 20 and see how the secondary responds. If your backshift is poor or the belt seems to get sucked in on acceleration you may have to add a bit more weight to the tip of the Bu10's or soften the finish up on the primary spring instead.

if them specs are wrong in the Tech section, maybe they should be updated.Where did the specs come from originally. There are a lot of years sleds in there..are most of them not right or what...

also some guys say their srx pulls better at around 8700 instead of 8500..I am set for about 8500,but before I had it setup like this..I really like the way it pulled to 8700..felt good to.bADa$$ SRX said:my 99 srx600 does seem to pull better at 8500 than at 8350......just saying

alot of things could affect that target rpm, if ya really wanna nitpick on a few hundred RPM get a dyno, or test the shit outta of it with controlled variables.

I have dynoed a few stock 700 SRX's I have not found one that made better power over 8500 rpm's We even tried cutting pipes and headers to try to get a bit more power with over rev. Nothing really helped. For best power and acceleration I be shooting for a shift out of around 8300 climbing to 8500 as the pipes heat up.
