never had this happen before, will riding the oil light sometimes starting flickering , most of the time real dim, then once in a while real bright, oil was full when left and checked it a few times to make sure it was using oil and it appeared to be going down. any ideas??
Just dealt with this on mine. Rub through on the harness.

Is this a 2000? If no...Maybe a tank out of a 2000? 2000 had a bad batch of sensors. If this is your issue it should be brighter/faster flicker at low RPM. If 98-99 or 01-02 and you know its not a 2000 sensor than look for a rub threw.

yeah...sensor in the tank. Has 2 probes, when oil is lower than probes thers no connection between the two which fires up the light.
