why are you replacing it? its near impossible to damage the rod itself, its the attachments on on either end that usually fail.
pull the nut and bolt from the pivot on the ski knuckle(12mm wrench and socket i think). leave the joint in the middle connected. now remove the connections as a unit from the bar(10mm wrench here off memory). do the same on the opposite side of the sled.
now comes the fight. most likely the bar is corroded/rusted in the tube it rides in. tip the sled to one side and spray some pb blast or the like and let it soak a bit. patience is key here as is re applying the penetrant. with a large, long punch just slightly smaller than the rod, start driving it out. dont be shy, beat the thing. if your lucky, it will fly right out. if not, time for more penetrant and more beatings. that bar is over 2' long, so you may need to prepare for that. a piece of 3/8" rebar is a good drive tool.
for future reference, you may want to post your questions in the "all other sleds" category or the vintage section. you may get quicker and more responses.
let me know if you need any more info and good luck!
