I need some help from you Yamaha guys. I have been riding a Cat for years so I don't know much about a Apex but I know this form does. I'm considering buying turbo Apex 2007 se build by LCC in WY. The machine has only 200 miles on it is like new. My question is on the turbo it's a Rock and Roll turbo are they good or bad. I'm to the forum and all the help you give me is appreciated. Thanks maybe x Arctic Cat rider.

Having owned an Apex Mtn. since 09 I've looked into a turbo for a long time. I've never even heard of a Rock and Roll turbo.

Personally for me I would buy an Impulse or McXpress turbo. They both have standalone EFI which adjusts the boost for me. Since I'm in the flats (1200-1400ft) I want something I can just put in the trailer and go west and ride the mountains and not be adjusting fuel settings all day like the Boondockers. Boondocker kits also had other issues with them. I believe they would blow a little oil out the breather and something with the exhaust on them. It's been awhile since I researched that.

But my choice hands down would be Impulse or McXpress. Boondocker turbod Apex's can be bought for cheap though if you aren't afraid to adjust your fuel for the temp/altitude/etc.

Lots of turbo info over on the 4 stroke side and at snowestonline.com I've spent hours researching this stuff. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the input I will give it try

That could be a guy named Rock from Wi.he has buildt a few kits and really knos his stuff.

I gave them a call and this is what I found out. The turbo is made in the shop and still is supported. This is Tony's own design and LCC has installed it on many sled including his own. I was just looking for input from someone other the builder. They always will tell it is the best;) This is a 50/50 race fuel system 19 psi but can be turned down to 12 psi so I can run pump gas. This system was 10g to install sound a little steep.
Thanks for the input.

10g with install labor sounds about right. Last time I checked into an McXpress kit, it was right around 7500-7800 before labor. And for labor you are talking about having to install a head shim and then disassembly of the sled and putting all the turbo stuff on and hooked up. Wouldn't take long to get to 10g.
