monoshock 136"?

has anyone here actually put a monoshock 136" into their viper? ive tried searching and read alot of mixed answers, some saying that it SHOULD fit in the same as a 121", and others saying you get issues with the track flapping or something. unless i can get a killer deal on a 121, then doing a 121 with extensions is out of the question, because im not ready to drop that much cash into my sled as of now. so whats the deal on this 136 skid?

Also, how do the 136" mono's work off trail? i associate the monoshock with the apex which is like trying to ride a rock in the powder.

my other option is a 136" hartman extension and relocation (what im really leaning towards, just looking at options)

Keep trying your searches - several have done it and even made good write ups. I think at least one of them founds it's way into the Tech Section. I don't feel the mono is a good off-trail skid, but in a Viper it is not horrible either. The 4-strokes with the mono like to trench mainly because of 2 things - the front-end weight, and the track attack angle. Others on here have a lot more seat team on this combination then I do so can offer more advice.

I have a XTX skid in my Viper, but am still trying to get it dialed in. Hard to find seriously deep snow here in Michigan to test.

The ride of the mono is much better on-trail. Off-trail the mono is at least as good as a Pro-Action in my opinion but not nearly as good as other skids designed for off-trail.

Call tom at hartman. He will answer the phone most day's. He is a wealth of knowledge and is always willing to answer any questions and share knowledge. If anyone know's he will.
