Hello, i have a 74 433 gpx with 38mm carbs, exciter secondary with a red polaris spring, stock motor. I have a comet 102 for a primary. Comet calls for a silver spring and F-2 arms. The sled will be oval raced and i was thinking of useing a polaris blue spring but what should i be looking at for arms? Thanks Rich.

ALONG TIME SINCE I PLAYED WITH A GPX WITH A COMET. AND IT WAS FOR DRAG RACING WHEN I DID. ANYWAYS I LOVE THE COMETS ON THE OLD VINTAGE YAMMIES. SOME HERE DON,T. BACK IN THOSE DAYS, YAMAHA DID NOT GIVE YA MUCH, COMET DID. ANYWAYS GREAT MOVE WITH THE EXCITER SECONDARY, FIND A SRX HELIX. SHOULD BE STAMPED 8A7. I WOULD SUGGEST POSSIBLE A COMET P-1 WEIGHT. OR A C-1. THEIR VERY AGGRESSIVE AND SHOULD PULL HARD ON THE STRAITS. THE SRX N-1 WILL BE TO HEAVY AND ARE IN POSSIBLE TO FIND. JUST GUESSING THOUGH. 3:16 (yammie tony)

well like Tony said some do not like the comets on the yami's and i am one but they are much cheaper to play with than the srx primary you will want around 5k engagement and runit to 8400 rpm i like the tall purple spring and a set of polaris 10-MR weights lightened to 39-42 grams depending on the motor secondary should be with yellow spring (which is what you should have) should be wrapped at 90*to120* for oval racing .........wish i could help more but i still run the yami clutches or on my mods full polaris set ups

Thanks for the info. I do have a yellow spring but i installed the polaris red spring. I will set my extra secondary up with the yellow spring and try it. Rich.
