I just bought a 98 srx 700 for very cheap from a customer of mine it was setting on a trailer in his garage. A original unmolested sled bone stock 4000 miles it needed a rear shock and a good cleaning. Been sitting for years the carbs were full of oil. This is like my 20 th srx I have had. Sold most of those I have 7 Right now. This one I will sell to a friend. Will fix it up for him and let someone else enjoy it. Don't want to be that guy who parts them out.i does have a new predator track which is the only thing these older sleds needed.

It's too bad.....there are so many people out there parting out these great machines. Nothin wrong with parting out a sled thats all smashed up, but it really sucks to see the nice ones being stripped!

I'm parting out my viper cuz the center rod bearing went and it wasn't worth it for me to fix it so I got $800 more than what I payed for it.
But I cry every time I have to let a part to.
It's so sad cuz it was absolutely mint

It's too bad engine parts for these sleds are so expensive, there would be alot less parted out if the parts were a little cheaper!

you just need to find the right machine shop. cranks can be repaired very reasonably. I'd never part a sled over a crank but that's just me. I can understand why others would.

My sled would have to be totaled before I'd part it out! What is the average cost to have a crank rebuilt?

parting out sleds
The only thing sadder than seeing someone part out a perfectly good SRX is the disecting and parting out of a good Vmax4.
