Hello all. I am adding a HID bulb, ballast and battery to my 93 EX570 SX and need a bit of help. I've got the bulb and ballast figured out but how to wire in the battery is confusing me. I'm good with 12 volt DC power but AC weirds me out. Kind of afraid I'm going to blow up my battery or HID system. I have the factory service manual and wiring diagrams but I'm still nervous. If anyone with knowledge of adding a battery to an SX, could answer a few questions for me, it would be most appreciated.
Can I wire the battery into the 50W auxiliary output connectors located on the left side of the machine, above the rear of belt cover?
If yes, awesome. If not, please tell me what I need to do.
Should I add a fuse between stator and battery in addition to the one from battery to ballast?
In the wiring diagram, there is an option for a second voltage regulator. Is this optional voltage regulator for the 50W outputs? Why do or don't I need another one?
Thanks for any and all replies.

I think you will need a rectifier and I suspect that is what they are calling the optinal regulator.
Trying this again. Any more thoughts on this?

why not use rocktoyz kit as it does not need a battery.

Just a heads up This can't be done regardless if you hook battery up or not. The older ignition system simply cannot handle the draw from the HIDs. The stator will overheat and short trying to keep the battery charged. Know from experience. If you don't hook it to charger it will simply drain the batter and shut off. I tried everything as have many other members in the past with no luck to get this to work on older sleds. They do work with the newer 300watt ignition system on Sled made after 2001. It is able to keep battery charged and works well. Run them on all my Vipers. Im with miam I think he meant rocks LED kit that is pretty close to HIDs in brightness and works well with older ignition systems.
