I'm looking to build a vmax4 specific for speed runs. It will not be stock. It will be an all out race sled with boost. I've found a 750 in decent shape for decent money. I know stock for stock the 800s had more grunt but since my plans include a lot of engine work i'm wondering if it still matters. Are the 800's also stonger in other areas like cranks for example.

JEFF WALK FROM A 750. 800 WAY BETTER. ESPECIALLY FOR POWER. BETTER CLUTCHES, BETTER CDI TO REV, LOWER END STRONGER, CRANK, JACKSHAFT etc. 3:16 (yammie tony)

staggs get your self a 800 and join the summer build contest it could be COOL

PS if your gonna build a mod vmax 4 make sure you have an open checkbook LOL
Good luck with your build man.

JEFF I PROBLEY POSTED BEFORE I THOUGHT FOR A SECOND. AND LOOK I STILL SAY GO WITH A 800, BUT JUSTIN DURAND MADE HUGE POWER ON A 750 TURBO. SO SURE HOW FARR THE CHECKBOOK CAN TAKE YA. NO DOUBT 800 BETTER. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Yeah thats my inspiration for this project right there. here's the backline story, I was/am building a prostock 780 SRX for grass/ice drags. since then we lost our ice drag series here. Now all I have for winters are the speed runs but the SRX would end up in the 800 open class against boosted Ape's running speeds no naturally aspirated SRX will ever run. So I could just go the boosted 4-stroke route but after seeing Justin's stuff I would love to compete with an old dinosaur. That being said he has waaaaaayyyy more time spent developing his but if I could at least compete around here with some old iron I'd be happy.
