Hi Everyone.
I was here last year when I picked up a beautiful 2001 SRX basically stock, unmoloested and very well cared for... Here is the link

I ended up selling the sled before I even rode it, some things came up as well as the winter is the busy time at my previous job.
Now I am in a much different position, made some new friends who all sled all winter so I have been lurking throughmy local CL to see if I can take advantage of the "summer prices" and pick up another SRX or maybe even a Viper.
I like the idea of the SRX's being lake rockets as well as I LOVE the look of them, they just scream "Muscle sled" :2strokes: but wouldn't mind something a bit more comfy.
What are the primary differences between the Vipers and SRX's. I see that the Vipers don't have the triple exhaust so I would thnk that would take a bit out of it speed wise.
There are quite a few of each on my local CL. If I were to get another SRX it would be a 2000 or 2001. When it comes to Vipers are there some years better than others?
If this question has already been answered a link would be cool, and again, nice to chat with everyone again

From what I understand the Viper chassis are all the same throughout the years but in 04 the seat was changed to a more comfy one plus I believe the shock valving was tuned more to the trail comfort side as well.If your looking at a Viper take a good look at the suspension shocks because only the later years came with aluminum rebuildable ones unless I'm mistaken, otherwise they will be steel throw away ones.

the 02 vipers had rebuildable shocks, the valving was just stiffer than what they went to in 03 and 04. The mtn vipers came with the non-rebuildable shocks

The 05 Mtn Viper received the Pro Mountain suspension. The older ones still had the Pro Action suspension.
