I am looking for a set of 38mm flats for my Phazer. What does a person look for if the carbs are not on the sled? I do not want to but a set off of e-bay or Kijiji and fing out they are "smart " when they arrive.
should be tell tale signs of the electrical connectors for the solenoids on the left side of both carbs. they may be plugged as well if the sensors were removed.
dont hold me to this, but if i remember correctly, the 38's were a one year only on the smart carbs. seems like after 96 they were 36mm. both had some sort of tps attached to the right side carb near the cable attachment.
hard to distinguish between the two sizes, measure carefully on the engine side of the carbs.
