A special thank you goes out to the individual at Tip Up Town this weekend that hit the sled my girlfriend was riding. You tipped the sled over and it landed on her. Thank you for running from the scene. Mistakes happen, but you need to fess up to them. If you were the rider of the yellow skidoo sled with a green helmet it would be nice of you to contact me.

I love having all the sledders get together at Tip Up Town, I think it is a blast but people need to realize that they need to be careful. I was a ways ahead of her when she got hit but fortunatley there are Yamaha people, as a couple Yamaha people helped her get the sled back over. She was ok, and as for the sled it busted a mirror and put an inch and a half crack in the hood.

Tip-Up-Town=Drunken sledderfest. Only stopped in there 1 time 4 years ago on a sled. Now I go out of my way to avoid the entire Houghton Lake trail system during that 2 weeks. I do however like to stop out to the festivities to check out the sleds, displays and stuff but the sleds stay home. To many ice racer wannabe's and I don't have eyes to keep track of them all.

P.S. I'm glad no one was hurt. The year I was there a woman was entering the ice along a pennisula and was broadsided by a sled going at a high rate of speed. She was killed. The idea of Tip-up-town and sledders convining for a good time is great but to many people can't control themselves or their sleds.

Per usual, sounds like one of those "a few ruin it for everyone" events. Heading to the UP this weekend... sounds like it might be a lot better place to be.

Dont count on that, as i have seen more idiots per capita on the trails this year than ever before. Any I only have about 1000 miles so far.

i guess im lucky then i havent seen anyone on the trials. only 200 tho. around my house lol no snow
Maybe you should post this on TotallySkiDoo.com as I think the chances of finding the one that hit you on this site pretty slim.
Tip Up Town is a freak show. I have a friend that owns a place on Houghton Lake and invites us every year. Love his house, cant beat the view the host and hostess are first class and we love them but we will not get within 100 miles of their place during Tip up town. As far as I'm concerned your putting your life in the hands of some drunk 20 year old as soon as you enter the area.

Hey now, I did not want to turn this thread into a bash Tip Up Town thread. I am one of the biggest supporters of Tip Up Town. It does wonders for the community. Yes when people get together they tend to forget how to be careful and can be wreck less. You just need to be extra careful. I love to see all of the sledders come together for an event. There are organized drag races, Yamaha demo rides, and so forth. It is a blast, JUST BE CAUTIOUS!
