I Wasnt in the market for another viper but one just happen to make its way to me. A fellow member mike (yammi nut) got a hold of me about selling his viper. Hasnt been able to ride for a season or two and was looking for some help selling his. Well as it turns out i couldnt resist and ended up buying it. He has kept this viper pristine. He has a 02 stretch to 136 with track usa kit and a 1 1/4 ripsaw. Has 7500mi with fresh rings about 300 mi ago. He Has all the right parts on this, more then i can list. Not a scratch or dent or rusted trailing arm to be found. I thought i was a nut but this viper makes mine look dirty. Mike is one of us for sure. I also got tons of extra parts, manuals, bags, cover ect..... I just want to give a BIG THANKS to mike for the great set up. No big changes planned as its already how i want it but im sure ill find somthing to tinker with. Here are a few pic's Mike ill talk to ya next week for a few beers!!

Thanks guys. This sled will be a great addition to the fleet. Has the excell seat riser with 2" handlebar riser. Reverse, quick adjust nuts on all the freshly rebuilt shocks and of course the 136". I also got a nice lift/stand, set of PV with servo motor, engine cases, carbs, CdI, stator ect. Even a like new set of deep keel saddless skis im going to put on. There are more parts I'm forgetting. Really happy about the set up. Looking at adding e start but that's it, should be ready for snow.

Is it gonna be a backup. Or is a family member gonna claim it and give up there's..

The daughter has already laid claim to it. Lol! Been wanting her to try a longer track sled and this is a perfect chance. If she likes it I will long track her sled next season. "Father and daughter viper project phase 2". ;)!

Your talking about putting the long track on her " pinked" up sled?

My Garage Sale Rox Sled Tread Find!!!

Thought id share a little project ive been working on for the back up sled. I scored a (im thinking) older set of rox sled treads for $30. They were beat up a bit but all there. Came with the grip edges and extension set. Even came with the foam insert for the bottom. They were a bit bowed also. Here is what i started with. I plan to clean and straighten them up and use bedliner for the boards.

SO i took them all apart and removed all the grip screws. Some were missing and some bent but mostly there. I took them out cause i dont need that much traction. Im always moving my feet when riding. I may add some afterwards. Got the extensions off so i can put them where i want. Im not sure if they were even meant for a yamaha cause the rear bolt and washer for the skid had no cut out like the new set i got anita. Here they are stripped down and mocking up.

Got the extensions mocked up today with the Edge grip strips. I kept the widest part where my boot sit when riding. I ride with me feet under me so the widest part is about where the rear skid bolts are. Now its ready for the bedliner treatment. Ill keep the grip strips bare aluminum and give them a good polish. The bedliner held up great all last season on my viper's running board mod. No chips and it really had good traction so i will do the same here. The boards themselves are to scratched and beat up to have them look good bare with a polish on them. I though of powder coat but that would wear and not have the traction of the bedliner.
