you can always back out of the sale, withdraw your bid, just don't make a habit of it because it looks bad! the better way is to talk to the seller and see if he is reasonable about the circumstances. if it was me i would just yank my bid, sorry if it sounds bad/wrong but somtimes you just have to!

You shouldnt have any problem backing out of the sale as the seller said that he thinks they are the same as well, just tell him you found out that they are different and his crank wont work for you. On the plus side, if you do end up winning the auction and buying the crank, you should be able to get your $175 and some out of that 01 crank.
