The owner of the Vmax-4.com website lost interest in snowmobiles some time ago and with it any interest in maintaining the website. It appears he checked in yesterday for the first time this year and took offense to truthful comments and threatened to kill the website before giving it to someone who wanted to run it. As of today the website is gone as well as a great deal of knowledge. A place to write what we know is needed.
WTF!!! the site is really down I know there was tons of into for these sleds on that site, going to need someone to take it over so we can keep the V-max 4 alive

VERY SAD. TIMES CHANGE I GUESS. I HELPED START THE ORIGINAL vmax4.com IN 1998 WITH THAN OWNER DEAN CONK AND TWO OTHERS. SITE WAS A PLACE FOR VMX 4 OWNERS TO LEARN ABOUT THESE GREAT SLEDS. DEAN SOLD THE SITE TO A CAPT JAGER. THE SITE HELD ITS OWN FOR AWHILE BUT HAS FALL,IN ON HARD TIMES WITH HACKERS AND PORN. BASICALLY ONE MODERATOR IS THERE TO FIGHT WITH NO HELP. THE CAPT POSTED YESTERDAY HE SAW NO INFO ABOUT THE HACKERS WHICH I BELIEVE IS BULL. HE ALSO POSTED HE SOLD HIS SLEDS AND WANTS OUT OF THE SITE. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I learned everything I know about vmax4 from that site and rebuilt my entire sled with the help of all the guys on there. Luckily and hopefully all the guys from there will bring their knowledge here. I noticed many of the same names on TY from vmax4. I am actually doing a deal to tonight with a guy from vmax4. He is buying a parts skid and secondary for his grass sled and I am getting some custom made clutch tools he fabricated. RIP-VMAX4.com

There is a crap load of VERY!!!!!!!!!! GOOD and hard to come by info on these mighty beasts over there. Everything from tech, history, setups, etc, etc and some real good old bitch fest slappin round threads that are funny as hell. There have been MANY, MANY characters on that forum that have come, gone, stayed and still toss schnitt. All and all a great group for the most part.
It would be a real shame to loose it all because of one guy. I'm not picking on the Captin but if he doesn't want to work the site at least let someone like Tom or others do something with it. I know he has been offered the $ for the updates and help to run the site or take it over. These offers were from valid responsible people with the tallent/$ to do it.
As far as I know there has been no response.
The list of names who have contributed to that site's value in both $ and content is long and thier credentials are exceptional.
I'll make some calls and see if I can get some cooporation from the Captin. I don't know him personally but know some who should.

It would be very interesting to retrieve the user Vmax4.com PM and transfer here. Also the technical section and all the useful info. This site will be a great loss to all the people who was looking at.

i don,t think cooperation from the capt gonna happened Phil. mark the shark sent him e mails for 6 months about the hackers with no response. funny, i posted on there to '' RATTLE '' the cage, poof he appears. look, i asked tom for this forum, i don,t want it to be a vent for vmax4.com. start the good posts. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I really hope Capt jager decides to turn the site over to someone that will take care of it. I'm not sure what his motive is here. I personally sent him a PM On 5/6/13 offering to pay for the badly needed $500.00 software upgrade, and a personal email last week asksing him to sell the site to me. My only reason for asking to purchase the site was because I didcnot want to see this happen. Quite honestly I may be asking for more then I can handle but it would be worth it to save the Forum. I really hope The Capt decides to turn Vmax 4.com over to Mr Sled or someone that will make sure all that vaulable knowledge is not lost.
