I'm new to sleds, SRX 700 being my first. Anyhow I was curious if my secondary is supposed to have so much front to back play in it as you can see in my video. Also my primary is making the belt squeal like a mother just sitting at idle. When I ride it I can smell rubber burning. Any ideas?

VERY COOL VIDEO,S. PRIMARY FIRST AIN,T CAUSING THAT SQUEAL, YOUR BELT IS. YOUR BELT DEFLECTION TO TIGHT. AND THATS THE PROPER AMOUNT OF SIDE TO SIDE PLAY ON YOUR SECONDARY. WHAT I WOULD DO IS TAKE YOUR SECONDARY OFF AND FLIP IT UP RIGHT. THAN REMOVE THE THREE SMALL .8mm BOLTS. YOU WILL FIND A WASHER BEHIND EACH. TAKE THE washer OUT AND PUT SMALL BOLTS BACK IN, PUT BELT BACK ON AND SEE IF THAT NOISE STOPS. 3:16 (yammie tony)

So you mean the bolts that hold the helx on? The washers I'm removing, are they big or small? Do I remove all washers? Sorry like I said this is all new to me.

the bolts he's talking about are on the opposite side of the helix. on the tunnel side of the secondary when it's mounted in the sled.

8mm washers like 3:16 said, behind secondary sheave.Remove washer from each bolt will spread the secondary sheaves more thus allowing belt to drop down some equals less tight belt equals no SQUEAL..there are 2 thickness size washers...5 mm and 1 mm.Probably you have the 1 mm thick ones, sometime .5 washer will work or no washer at all.As belt starts to age and get narrower, then you can add washers to squeeze the sheaves together more to raise belt height.Very simple really.james-30 said:So you mean the bolts that hold the helx on? also the tips of those bolts wear off over time and need to be replaced.

the plate that them bolts butt up to can also be flipped to the other side incase there is a little wear on the plate from the bolts turning up against it..
