I'm about to install a m10 on a 98 srx600. It is a lightly used m10 from a 2004 Polaris 600 Classic with 2,300 miles.
I dont have these torque arm brackets:

Are they necessary?
I have a srx700 with an m10 and it doesnt have the brackets. I'm not going to be using the fast mounting kit, just using the factory front hole and making a small aluminum plate for the rear hole like previously discussed on this forum.
Also, the rear axle only has 3 wheels...does it need to have 4 wheels like the proaction suspension?

I think if you order a front arm shaft for a 04 rx1, you will get the correct width shaft. you then grind a little relief for the triangle plate on the frame, bolts right in.
In the back, I have fount it easiest to just rivet a plate next to the factory one, then tack a couple welds to connect it. simpler than moving the original or riveting in a single larger plate.
never seen a m10 with three wheels but I guess they made them at some point.
Don't forget the front end. If you don't want to go to longer travel front shocks, at a minimum, do a bracket flip to give a bit of height. also, installing any taller skid in back, will really mess up your carbide pressure. You will need to reshim your skis.
you adjust an m10 just like a pro action so the below information will help you get the right setup.

The Polaris version of M10's have 3 wheels. I would imagine if they run them on Polaris like that it should be alright for you. There is a few other differences on a PolarisM10 and a M10 direct from Fast.

I just ordered a couple parts from fast....I asked them about the 3 vs 4 wheel. They said that all the new models will have just 3 wheels. not much difference by adding the4th wheel....just more weight.....
