Nice build! Looks nice and clean. You may want to either put the rear of the skid back where it belongs or drop the front down to compensate. That thing will ride terrible like that.

I have a clutch off a pogo vmax thats a big imp on them sleds I sell it for 60$

yea the newer pic of it in red the drop brackets are not attached/ bolted down yet. it still has to be dropped 2 inches. an because there isn't weight on the tunnel right now its supported in the air by my deck railing(redneckin it). but yea what about that clutch?.. is it better than the pogo phazers?. its probably geared different because it was most likely a 600 right?.. il be interested in that. need to know more an is it a benefit to the modds i got on the phaser now?

i might trim the drop bracket an drill a new hole to compensate for how far out the skid is from the tunnel..i have been looking into clutching, but it seems i am just not that knowledgeable about them. so i just stop thinking about doin anything to them.

The best mod you can do to stock clutches is rebuild them to factory specs. I'm sure they are worn.

Double post and apparently I changed the second sentence? Haven't slept in 30+ hours!

When I was a kid I had an 84 phazer. I took it into the Local Yamaha dealer, they went through both clutches, replaced all parts that were worn and put a slightly heavier spring in the primary, it was a night and day difference after I had the work done and you could really ride the wheelies with that thing!! :-)

yea i was thinking the same but i could repace all the things worn myself i just need a good place to buy all the parts. reasonably priced, would like a slightly heavier spring too. mine is a yellow/green.. 30+ hours that sucks, ive had to do that plenty of times before my kids were born. doubles an triples(long days-Fast nights). thats what i want a good ditch banger, with some good nose in the air hang time. sorry for the novel. also thanks to all who like it so far

well got a few more things done today glad with the progress. i was looking at my paint when i got home from work an wasnt liking how it looked. when i painted this 2 years ago. i never gave it a thought to cut an buff it.. so today thats what i did.

i was roughly about on pass onto the hood at this point.

2 passes with the buffer

then a third. i still have about 2 more passes go go. but i would say that this is a night an day difference an my phone doesnt do it any justice.. to say the least would you have figured this was a rattle can spray job. RUSTOLEUM gloss black an red/ Meguiars ultimate compound is by far the best compound i have used so far.. Then i got a little bit more into my project an had some energy to burn before my wife left to go to work an myself watchin the kids. i dived into trying to polish up my chaincase cover

befor

AFTER ha. i didnt want a mirror finish, i didnt want it to over power the carbs or the clutches. so i left it in a semi-gloss polish. to top it all off i got a package in the mail today

i got my Nytro snow flap today. thanks for watchin. hope ya'll like it so far!!

well im thinkin i am going to hill climb this season at a local ski mountain. modified 500 class. but im wonderin if i should do anything to the clutches. considerin i have the psi pipe an boyesen reeds an no more rack carbs. can anyone give me any ideas or input?
thanks in advance

Thank you. On stands. It buryies the needle. So I am happy.. its come a little ways further since that photo. I'm gonna show the finished product real soon. Even though not many seem to like it. Ha ha but thank you again

Nice job! You've put alot of work into it and it shows! Really like all the polished aluminum and red accents. That looks like it'll be a whole lotta fun.Keep up the great work!
