First Sled

I just moved to Denver, so I figured I'd get my sled in the off season to get a deal. I got a (what i was told) a 1993 mountain max vmax 600 and a 87 phazer for $360.
From what i've searched online there was no 93 mountian max 600. from all the pics i've seen i believe i have a 1996.
saw this thread and this is exactly what mine looks like except mine has a decal on the hood over the decal above the vmax decal...

Only issue with mine is the pull start broke. I bought them without hearing them run (i know bad idea) but I know the engine wasn't siezed and it was a good deal and I just had an over all good feeling about the guy....well the phazer started right up after I used a jump box for the electric start which made me feel much better about them both being in working order.

My questions: since mine looks exactly like the pic in the link, is it indeed a 96 or did other years have the same decals?

Can i just get the $8.00 replacement cord from ebay and be fine?

Best place to find replacement skis and what they should cost: mine look pretty beat up with cracks in the plastic.

Best upgrades? I know the rear suspension is a harsh ride from what ive read.

whats the "warmer" knob for? grip or seat warmer?

over all suggestions???

Looks like a 96 and your pull cord very simple to repaid get a nice pice of rope at hardware store you be good. Welcome aboard man get wrenching snow is coming warmer knob is your hand warmers
