When I need fuel lines for my Vmax-4's I have ordered part #91A20-05145-00 from the Yamaha dealer. That is the long fuel level hose for an Exciter II. I cut this in to the size I need. Online list price is $8.72 for about 4 feet. This is the fuel line that has a pink tint.

Yamaha lines are a lot cheaper than watching your sled go up in flames
from leaking fuel
from leaking fuel

yamaha line is metric,so thats why 1/4" std line is loose fitting, and yes they will seep/leak some. You can use zip ties to tighten them up some as you found out the factory clamps wont work on it. All in all, I just use the yamaha fuel line, its not that expensive and fits correctly.
