The 2001 Srx that I just bought had the sway bar removed and was wondering what is involved in reinstalling a new one and if other models of machines fit if I go used. Thanks

I've got a SRX swaybar I removed from my race sled. Your's free if you pay shipping if you want it. As far as installing it, mine was stripped down to nothing when I pulled it. I'm not sure just how far you have to go to re-install one, hopefully someone else can give you sure info on that.

I had to put one back on my 01 I bought last year and the only real PIA part of the whole thing is the rivets on the plates that actually hold the bar in the chassis because there's one on each side that's kind of in behind the bellypan. The plates I'm referring to are located on the under side of the chassis and they have two plastic bushings on each side.To be honest I forget how I put them in now and my sleds are in my trailer at my parents place so I can't run out and look for ya.It seems to me that I put a pry bar in somehow and pushed the bellypan off to the side enough to get the rivet in there and popped.Good luck.

I was sizing it up last night and there is one rivit that I can't access like you mentioned. I may use a cold cut to remove or see if I can move it enough to get it in place. After it is installed I have an air rivit gun to reinstall the rivits. I hope it is not too difficult. I have not ran the sled as we do not have any snow here yet but I am reinstalling it any way. I would expect very poor handling running without it.

Actually the handling isn't all that bad without it,I went to all the trouble to put one on my 01 but never got the links to bolt it up on the ends lol.I ran it all season without it.

As far as that hidden rivet I read on here that someone took a chisel and cut the head off the rivets that can be accessed and just rotated the plate out of the way.I'm not sure how this will work but if you don't want to mess with that rivet it's worth a shot.

Yeah I know what your saying it has been, well for lack of a better word, nice here too lol with warm weather and lots of sun. From all the "experts" talk we could be in for an early winter with lots of snow and cold temps but I'll believe it when I see it,either way I'm going to start working on my sleds this week.Might as well take advantage of the nice weather.
