adjusted my oil line to specs last season but still had pooling oil in my air box. I will be putting new reeds in . do these reed cages have a top or a bottom? can I use some rvt sealant around the outside of the cage when I reinstall or just get new gaskets? I think I will just use new stock reeds all the others seem way over priced. how about reed spacers, is there an after market kit I can buy and is that mod one worth doing? its a 2000 sxr 600 with 5200 miles. when reeds are worn out is pooling oil a direct result of that or could it be something worse? I think im on the right track but im not a professional.

also i will be putting a new track on this sled. i have a reverse on this sled and all those linkage rods etc. etc. scare me . is the manual avalible here so i can take my reverse off and the chain case off in a step by step process instead of playing a guessing game and doing stuff backwards? i looked around in ty tec section but didn't see it. thanks again- peter

for the reeds, do this.
replace if you want to but unless there is some damaged or hanging open, with that mileage, they are fine. the spitback in your box is normal. The only way I have found to fix it is to install a boost bottle. This also give some power to that tripple but makes everything a bit tight.
spacers are good for that motor but will make the carbs close to the steering post unless you install a bent shaft post from viper/srx/phazer.
Even then, a washer under the rear mount helps.
If your not out for every last speck of power, notch your reed backers. There are a few threads on the subject. It is free and though not quite as good as spacers. Very close, cheaper and everything fits the same. If the puddling bothers you that much, you could get the boost bottle, they are about 200 new, and will give power.
vforce reeds also help over stock reeds as their design unblocks the boost port, same as the spacers or notching. The do however cost alot and will not last as long.
do a search, you can even install viper/srx reeds for a little more
