How much has to be removed to install one of the SRX torque limiters into a Viper? Is it a 1 hour or a 5 hour project?

Not too bad
I put one on my Viper and it took me about 2 hours. If I remember I removed the airbox and carb rack but did not remove the primary. It would have been a lot easier if I removed the primary but it can be done without. It took me awhile to figure out where it goes but I found some pictures on the site somewhere. If you need a picture I can take one and send it to you.

The only real issue I can see with the install is that there's a bracket that has to be bolted to the crankcase. There is on oval kind of a cut in the frame behind the primary and the bracket is right behind it and you MIGHT,and that's a big might,be able to bolt it on without having to at the very least jack the front of the engine up by taking the front motor mount bolts out. This will also entail carb removal as well.Otherwise you'll be lifting the engine out to put this one bracket on,the other one bolts onto the frame on the back side of the secondary and it's no problem to put that one on,just make sure you leave it loose so that when you put the limiter rod in place and bolt it in there's a little slack to come and go on.This will allow you to set your center to center as well.

I have a limiter on it's way and was planning to remove the carbs anyway for general cleaning.
I plan to replace the front mount with an SRX style mount too... do I only need the engine side front left bracket? It looks like the rubber part is the same, SRX vs Viper.

You are correct, the only part that is different is the engine side of the bracket has 3 holes instead of 2. You are also going to need another bolt. I bought a used one and got the whole thing so I didn't have to take it apart.
