Nope, its not a concept. Say what you want, but at least ski-doo is trying to bring a new generation into riding instead of offering 1000CC sleds only. I aint no doo guy(been on Yamaha's since 87) but Yamaha needs to address the younger crowd.

How about this sled for the kiddies... found it on the side of the road for sale today... says it runs great, about 5300 miles, it's an Excel 340........ $500 firm says the sign. I don't recall what year... might have been 79 or 81??

that is the same sled as the mid 80's enticer or atleast the hood is. my dad had the et340t from 86 and that is how the hood and bumpers where shaped. i think it was 83-1991 the enticers where that shape.
now that i looked at the picture again its a late 80's enticer. my uncle had the trapper from88 or 89 and that is how the gauges where mounted on his sled. the coulour might tell us the year cause back then yamaha used the colours for only one season and then changed em for the next season.

looks like the ski-dogs are bringing back the old olimpic 300, man what is with the insect look with the headlights on all the new models, i think they look ridiculous.

i believe that enticer is a 89 excel V, my parents used to have one of those, i learned how to ride on it.
It's at least an 84' no older. Looks like a good starter sled for the kids. My son had a 84' till he started jumping it. Not a good thing, the hood and suspension just couldn't take it.

Man, that thing is ugly ! We started on the Enticers in 1981. Still have them, an 81 and an 83. The kids love them. It would be nice to see Yamaha bring back an entry sled, 3-400ccs.

If you guys know Yamaha's product developement...they have stated for the last few years that they are letting the other guys handle the niche markets cuz there ain't no money in it...hence why there are no more small cc Yamaha's...go ahead and jump ship...hope you don't drown in the process. Just a little tid bit. I live 30 seconds from Anderson's in Bloomfield Twp, MI and have spoken many times to their head mechanic of 18 years. He has told me many times....if you want quality buy Yamaha...if you like to gamble and are looking for engine troubles...buy Ski Doo. In 2002 he rebuilt 40 something ski doo motors and 6 or 8 yamaha's...what do you think? He said consistantly Ski Doo's are a pain in the a Not my words just the words of a head mechanic from one of the largest dealers in the country.

Yeah, but the dealership probably sells 40 doo's for every 8 yamahas too. I too wish Yamaha built a smaller sled. It's not that we want to jump ship, but are forced to buy another brand if we want new sleds for the kids.
