Has anyone done the long track conversion by pioneer performance? If so, did you find it made a difference in ride and/or handling?

Thanks,
Shawn

I have the Viper rear suspension which is basically the same thing. It really saves your spine on those hidden bumps but yes it does take away that amazing srx "on rails" feeling. It is a little more tippy. I have spent a lot of time making adjustments and mine is very close to as good as it can get. I will acceopt the trade offs now to save my back since I am not 21 anymore.

I also bought the shock extenders for the front. They seem to help the steering a little in a high speed corner but I don't think they are necessary.

Good luck!

If you don't have shocks, and yours are good, you might end up with the same money, buying some, then having them revalved to be as good as their kit. their kit does ride better than anything yamaha made factory. That being said, xtc, 03 and up viper, or updated viper, or sxr rear shocks will be a large improvement over what you have. even gas bag shocks will be better, though the bushed ends wont last.

If you do it up right, that skid cant ride very good, and handle as good or better than it does now, even long travel.

do some reading below.

Thanks guys.. I found an opportunity to purchase a complete rear skid with KYB shocks from an 02... Looks clean. This may be the best way to go as I'm thinking i'll swap out the shocks.

Have you tried having your stock shocks serviced? Just changing the oil makes a huge difference!

I have never used Pioneer but his rates seem VERY reasonable for a service and a revalve compared to moto.

HA!....Shawn I am just in Hanover!

A service or a revalve? I have serviced my own. Dissembled, changed oil and charged with nitrogen. If you would like to try that I could help you out. Pioneer does not really revalve an srx shock since the travel is the limiting factor anyway.
