Hey there, last year I had a parts sled with what appeared to be a stock rear set up off of a 2000 viper or srx I'm not sure. The track on my sled currently is a 141 with te approach angles set up improperly. My goal is to update the approach angle and use the 144 off the parts sled. I made a template off the parts sled before discarding it. My only problems are the parts sled had a standard chain case set up and my sled has a dropped and rolled chain case. Another issue is the rails off my sled are actually longer than the rails used on the parts sle with the longer track, this I cannot figure out. I don't know if the parts sle was ever set up properly because it wasn't rideable basically just the skid in it that's all.

My question is basically how to set up my three mounting points properly for an updated approach angle. The template off the parts sled is a help but like I said the drop and roll is confusing me now. I will try to get pictures up shortly any help on the mounting points and or the rail. Lengths

Thanks a lot guys good to be back for another season snow in the forecast in Alberta!

all the dimensions still apply. measures are taken from the drive axle, so even though you have a rolled chaincase, you still take your measures form the drive axle.

if you look up in the tunnel, you should be able to see the old hole location. if not there, its evident on the bulkhead where the jackshaft is. i need to look at mine and see how much the axle was dropped, but i dont think is was any. as i remember when i did mine(its been several years) it was more back then down. in other words, the skid moved away from the bulkhead. i have the same tunnel on an srx so it wont be much to compare.

what you need to key on is what rails, what arms(H or W at the front) or exactly what skid you have. thats going to be your defining point as to where you put things.

in theory, you have 4 choices, 121, 136, 141, or 144 on the skid, if its a yamaha proaction. the 141 and 144 will be identifiable the the front arm. then you run across guys like me who move things on 136 rails to make them 141 or 144(2000 geometry) and that should also be evident by additional holes in the rails. in other words, a 136 skid with the w arm can be relocated at the rails to become a 141 skid mounted with 141 geometry in the tunnel.

confused yet? dig in, put up some pictures, i have stock 141 and 144 sleds to compare as well as a drop/roll srx with ekholm tunnel that had a 141, then 151, now 155 with a cat 153 skid. holes are still there from each growth. should be able to find a happy point for what your doing.
