pistons are different. Viper 8ek, SRX 8dn
Wow that's funny. I was going to ask this same question. I was told last weekend that a srx piston would work in a viper. I was told they are lighter. And a bit stronger then the viper piston. But didn't know if anyone has tried this or if there was any truth to it.

Well I don't honestly know what the differences between the 2 are, only that they are different part #s.

viper piston a is a tad lighter weight then the srx and the srx has the coating that goes down to the first ring land.
they will interchange, its not a drastic weight differance.
both use same rings, pins and circlips as well.

been done many times.
So u could run like 2 viper pistons and 1 srx piston. Without hurting anything.

I would run all 3 the same. I would be worried about the different weight. It might react differently. 2 lighter then the 3rd. But thats just me .
Do all year srx run the same Piston

Best way to find outnis to look it up on a parts list. Partzilla.com is a good one for info. Look up the years and model and then the pistons. If they all have the same part number then they are the same. Some part number might superceed to another but should be close.
