lost key

I seem to recall reading on here that certain models of Yamaha sleds will start by just removing the plug from the ignition switch, no jumping req'd. I haven't tried it, so please don't shoot the messanger if I have it wrong.
Maybe it was 98/99 SRX will start this way, and 00/02 won't?

Use an ohm meter and test resistance on all of the wires against each other. Whichever ones show a shorted circuit when the key is turned to the on position are the the ones you jump. I'm not familiar with the srx switch so I don't know how many wires there are coming from it. Its possible that there are more than two wires that will need to be jumped. I would try unplugging the switch and starting it first.

you can just unplug that model. you can order a key from the number burned into the side of the ignition switch. You need to remove it to get the number.

Any sled with a magneto ground open to run can be started by unplugging the key. The key switch is a normally closed circuit, key on open to run.

Depending on the price of ordering that key you might be able to buy another key/switch. I have seen them used on here fetching $15-$40, then if your original key ever turns up you have a spare!
