I just bought some 2A primary nozzles to do the "phazer carb update". These new nozzles are made for the phazer carbs (OEM parts). My old nozzles measure 5.96mm diameter and the new measure 5.86mm diameter in the press region. The nozzles press into the carb body and protrude into the venturi, and the new nozzles are not an interference fit now. What should I do? Did I get nozzles that were out of tolerance?

The kit I got 15 years ago was the same way. The new ones were not a press fit. The threaded main nozzle will hold them in. Just make sure you have the little hole lined up in that nozzle correctly after tightening.

FIGURED THE RATIONAL OUT!!!!
Yamaha deleted the press fit so idiots can get the nozzle in place and lined up easily!...drop the jet in, line it up and tighten the nozzle to lock it in place. If it was a press fit still, it would be difficult to line up the jet & yahoos wouldn’t get it just right and take a pliers and marr up the jet trying to line it up! Makes sense now. From the factory they probably had a gage or jig to press those nozzles in.
