WHAT IS THE STANDARD HEIGHT WINDSHIELD ON THE VIPERS 2002 IM LOOKING TO GET A LITTLE TALLER ALSO HOW IS THE HEIGHT DETERMINED MEASURE FROM WHAT POINT THANKS :letitsnow

As far as i know there are only 2 height windshields. They may have made a taller one then stock but ive not seen one. The stock one should be about 12" with the lower profile one being 9 1/2". I have no idea how they are measured as i dont have any stock ones around. Ive cut all mine down to low profile and painted. The only thing i have seen is someone riveted a extension onto a stock windshield using windshield material from dennis kirk. It looked good for what it was. You may be able to adapt a same period vector windshield as they were taller and they shared a very similar if not the same body style. By the way welcome to the site!!! Lots of great info here, and its a bit slow yet but winters comming.

I actually have the taller one and it is from Yamaha. I got it because the standard height windshield had the wind hitting me square in the face. The taller one is not much higher (maybe an 1") but has a little flare at the top, it gets the wind just barely over my head and I am 6' 2". I will measure tonight the stock vs the high, I believe it is measured from the top of the headlight. I will try to post a pic as well. My friend has a Venom and I believe the stock windshield is taller on that. I looked at the parts fish and the Venom windshield is a 8EK-K7210-00-00 vs the Viper 8FB-K7210-00-00. The 8EK is also listed as an option for the Viper. Also if you are wondering your Yamaha cover will still fit with the taller windshield.

I have the taller one also. Pay for the ride to IL and you can have it. I have a black one on now, this one just sits in the pole barn attic. You can see it on the sled in my avatar pic.

I measured last night and the stock windshield measures 20" from the top of the headlight to the top of the windshield and the "tall" measures 21". It isn't much but for me it made enough of a difference to keep my face from freezing in below zero riding conditions.
