Has anyone put an hid kit on a 01 srx. Can their stator handle it? Is it true they use less power then the stock bulbs.?

Pretty sure you need to have a battery for them to work so if you have an e-start it's not a problem.

Yup jeff is right. You must have a battery to power the ballast. Your stator will handle it no problem, i believe the 01 has the 300w ignition system. Do a search if serious of installing lots of info. But with the 2 strokes a battery is a must unless someone has figured it out and has not shared with us yet.
