Does anyone have the torque specs on a 97 vmax 500 with reverse for the two bolt inside the chain case? Thank you.

On page 4 step 5 where it shows the chain installed. In the picture it doesnt show but does the top gear have a washer on the outer side of the nut? I have a thicker washer that fits around that shaft.

Yes. I remember thinking i was missing somthing when we put my buddies 97sx back together and we had that extra washer. It should go gear washer nut washer. Then the chaincase cover goes on. Here is a good pic in the link 30, 31, 32 part numbers.

and if you mean thick washer like a collar then that goes on first, then gear, then washer , then nut then washer. ect...... will show in link
