Wondering what would be a good clutch setup for a 99 Vmax 500? And would this help with fuel milage? Sled is completly stock with reverse. Looking for trail setup. Thanks for any help

Go to tech pages/snowmobiles/clutching &jetting/clutching & jetting on here.At the bottom of the page is a good setup. Fine tuning for your sled will always be required. I know of nothing that will make these 2 cylinder vmaxes get any decent milage. Ours has always been 7-9mpg. in some conditions worse.

thanks for the tip. I would love to get her into a 600 triple but she loves her sled.

I would recommend vmaxjhon's set up in the tec pages. ran it on my 01 sx500r and it was snappy as heck for corner to corner.
as for fuel milage, it will probably help some as odds are your wife is not as aggressive a rider as I am.

I found this a few years ago. Should give you an idea where the power is. They seem to vary a little from year to year, Vmax 500, Venture 500, xtc 500, sx 500, all same engine with no changes that I am aware of accept different years. They did jet them differently. Mine is a 98 XTC 500 and it does seem to like a little more RPM than most 500s that people talk about on TY.
